BIO

Inspired by the arts from a young age, David Frederick Hardy was educated at the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, Massachusetts while attending evening courses at Harvard University in Cambridge. His artistic pursuits began at age 10 with music; first as a trumpet player then as a composer. His orchestral works have been broadcast on classical radio. A successful bronze sculptor neighbor in his hometown of Palm Springs, California, who was a close friend of Winston Churchill's daughter Sarah Churchill, initiated the path of sculpture. Hardy has lived and worked in Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Canada. His studio is in Park City, Utah.

Hardy sculpts in clay, then casts each piece in bronze. “There is magic in clay and bronze,” he said. “Mythologies dating back to archaic times refer to the origins of life emerging from clay. Their stories tell of the bronze casting method having been bequeathed to humanity by the Gods. I work to capture feelings of life’s essence; a celebration of life by exploring the relationship between sound and materiality - fluidity and solidity - dance and pause. My mission is to express the mystery of beauty by working in the direction of the ancient use of statuary in the temple tradition."

Bronze sculptures by David Frederick Hardy can be found in private collections of industry leaders throughout the United States.
